Am I Too Old to Enlist? Maximum Age to Join the US Military
If you exceed the standard maximum enlistment age for your chosen branch, your military journey is not necessarily over. You may still be able to serve through age waivers or prior service adjustments.
An age waiver is an official request approved by the branch’s recruiting command. These are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. To secure an age waiver, you must prove that you are an exceptionally high-value candidate.
