Different Units of the US Army Special Forces

Becoming a US Army Special Forces Soldier

Becoming a Green Beret is not easy. First, you must join the US Army and complete basic training. Then, you must attend Infantry School and Airborne School. After that, you’ll need to complete the Special Forces Assessment and Selection (SFAS) course.

This tests your physical and mental abilities. If you pass SFAS, you will move on to the Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC). This includes language and cultural training, advanced weapons training, and survival tactics.
