The Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) Creed is a foundational statement of values and the guiding principles for an NCO’s conduct in the United States Army. While it has undergone revisions, its core message remains consistent—emphasizing leadership, service, and professionalism within the NCO Corps. An iteration of the creed includes: “No one is more professional than I. I am a Noncommissioned Officer, a leader of soldiers. As a Noncommissioned Officer, I realize I am a member of a time-honored corps known as ‘The Backbone of the Army.’ I am proud of the Corps of Noncommissioned Officers and will always conduct myself to bring credit upon it.”

The United States Army celebrates its birthday on June 14th. This date marks the anniversary of the creation of the Continental Army in 1775, established by a resolution of the Continental Congress led by future President John Adams. The formation of this force was to coordinate the military efforts of the Thirteen Colonies in their struggle against British rule. On that historic day, George Washington was appointed Commander-in-Chief and began organizing what would become an army for independence and liberty.

Army Regulation 15 is a category of regulations that govern various committees, boards, commissions, and similar entities within the United States Army. These regulations outline the procedures for their establishment, administration, and operation. However, “Army Regulation 15” is not specific enough on its own because there are numerous documents that could fall under this category – such as AR 15-6, which outlines procedures for investigating officers and boards of officers, or it could be part of another document’s title or section.

This year’s increase is all about keeping pace with that pesky cost of living so you can continue living comfortably without counting pennies for rent. If crunching numbers isn’t your thing, or if math class seems like ancient history, worry not. You can estimate your BAH rate online, where they factor in everything from pay grade and dependents to location—because someone stationed in Manhattan shouldn’t have the same housing budget as someone in rural Kansas.

Does The Army Use The Glock? Yes, the U.S. Army does use Glock pistols in some instances. The Glock 19, for example, is used by many special operations units and other military branches due to its reliability and compact size. But it’s important to note that while Glocks are part of their arsenal, they’re not the standard-issue sidearm for all personnel. The current standard handgun issued to most soldiers is the SIG Sauer P320, also known as M17 (full-size) or M18 (compact). This pistol was chosen due to a rigorous selection process by the Department of Defense in 2017. Despite this change from Beretta M9s – in service since 1985 – to SIG Sauer models as standard firearms across various ranks and roles within the U.S. Army, individual units with specific needs may still choose different weapons based on their requirements. Therefore, although Glocks are indeed utilized within specific segments of U.S military forces due to particular reasons like simplicity & durability, among others, they aren’t universally issued sidearms throughout every department or division under U.S. Armed services.
